Mathew's Gone Fishin'

These were taken of my son Mathew at age 10 at a pond just across the field from our house.

He loves to tell the story behind these photos of the fireants around the pond and how his mama kept saying, "Just one more shot, Mathew. Please? You're doing great!"

He started out lying on his back...

And quickly sat up...

And then realized that the ants couldn't get him while in the water...

But he loves these photos too. Almost as much as he loves telling the story behind them.
Thanks for being a trooper Mathew. I'll treasure these forever!

Runaway Robert

Years ago, I chose a different 'setting' for each of my four kids and they each had their own 'photo shoot' with Mom. Back then my older boys still thought this was 'fun'. I'm glad I did it before they outgrew me. =0)

I later grouped my favorite three of each and had them matted and framed. They hang in my dining room and are a beautiful focal piece in our home. Stay tuned for each 'set' in the days to come.

These photos were taken back in June of 2002 of my son Robert at age 12.

He's joined in these next three frames by our favorite ole' boy Jake who died the following year.

Beyond The Storm

Imagine this if you will: I stood in a parking lot with a storm almost directly overhead. I was at the very edge of a blanket of dark clouds, but looking straight up you can see the beauty that lies just above the storm. Within moments, the blanket had completely covered over the parking lot and all you could see was darkness --- and then the rains came down.

But what an awesome view I had for that brief moment! Looking straight up the wall of the storm at the beautiful clouds above it and the clear blue skies!
