Room Additions Anyone?

Okay, so sometimes I'm just drawn to WEIRD things, right?

This house here in our town is the "most added onto" house that I've ever seen! Imagine the building permits? From what I hear, he's actually NOT ALLOWED to do any more additions at this point.

This is the front view:
And here's the side view:

A Little Rustic Charm

This old barn sits right in town... here in our small town.
Kinda strange huh?

I love the RUSTIC charm of it.

Steeple Chase #6

And you've seen this one once before, too... here.

Steeple Chase #5

Steeple Chase #4

I like this tall, skinny one!

Steeple Chase #3

Too bad the skies weren't bluer for this series, huh?

Steeple Chase #2

And I've showed you this steeple before here and the entire church here. But since it is my favorite, I sure didn't want to leave it out of the series!

Join Me On My "Steeple Chase"

We have a lot of little churches here our small town... some bigger than others, but I'm always drawn to their steeples. So I now begin a new series this week.

This one is... for lack of a better word "Pointless." =0)

Can any of our local residents name these churches?

San Antonio Scenery 5

And inside St. Joseph's Catholic Church...

San Antonio Scenery 4

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is located in downtown San Antonio. When the fancy RiverCenter Mall was built they literally built the mall AROUND this church so as not to harm it. All to the right - mall. All to the left - mall. All behind - mall. And yet there in this tiny space, stands this old church. Pretty neat!

San Antonio Scenery 3

A gated archway adjacent to the Alamo...

San Antonio Scenery 2

Next stop during our afternoon in San Antonio - - - THE ALAMO!

San Antonio Scenery 1

Saturday, we headed down to SanAntonio for the afternoon. While there, we roamed around and saw a few of the sights! We had beautiful blue skies so I captured a few neat shots as we walked around in the crisp, cold wind.

A Real Workin' Barn

Most everyday on my way home from work, or town or just about ANYWHERE I travel, I pass this old barn. This one is still in full use... not sitting abandoned in a field.

I always think it looks so neat with the old windmill behind it, and yesterday evening the sun was setting so nicely and shining so softly on it, I decided to stop and take a picture.

I think it's.... quaint!

Mossy Tree

This huge, moss-covered Oak tree stands right outside of my office window. It's a massive tree and quite a nice thing to get to look at throughout the day instead of some city skyscrapers.

Big Yellow Ball in the Sky

Kinda pretty, huh?

Thanks God! I noticed!

Roadtrip - Old Bridge

So while driving back on the 2nd leg of our roadtrip, Jason suddenly pulls over and stops the car. I ask what we're doing as he spins the car around.

Apparantly on the way up, he had seen this old bridge, memorized its spot, and not even mentioned it to me. It was not really very visible and I hadn't seen it at all until he turned the car around and drove off the road so we could get out and walk to it.

And what a beautiful old bridge it was. As you can see, all the leaves had already fallen from the surrounding trees and covered the bridge, but it made it all the more perfect!

Roadtrip - Power Lines

And I don't really know WHY exactly, but I like these huge structures!

I grab my camera when I see them coming, and...

wait for it...

wait for it...

and then SNAP, SNAP, SNAP just as we go under them.

I like the different shapes they come in.

This one is my favorite shape though...

Roadtrip - Texas Fields

While on our roadtrip, we saw lots of these...

And of course, lots of these...

Roadtrip - Pretty Pines

Jason and I took a 13-hour road trip alllllllll day Friday. Along the way, I of course was snapping pictures of different scenery that jumped out at me or caught my eye. Jason even pointed out a few spots here and there.

The roads in North Texas are lined with big, tall pine trees - nothing like what we have down here in South Texas. It did make for a beautiful drive.
